Summary/Abstract: Satellite measurements of electric fields depend on the precision and reliability of the performance of spherical double sensors. In this paper, the application of spherical double probes with glassy carbon coatings mounted on board a series of satellites, to study various physical processes taking place in the Earth's plasma is considered. The physicochemical properties of the glassy carbon coatings on the working surfaces of the probes were evaluated and it was found that they do not change after a long stay in the conditions of outer space.
