Summary/Abstract: The Bulgarian military monuments, built in the period 1885– 2023, are considered a symbol of national appreciation. Their construction is considered a continuation of the Russian military tradition in this area, but a further developed consequence of the wars for national unification, which left their mark on their architectural vision and ideological focus. The idea is advocated that the Bulgarian military monuments are a symbol of universal national appreciation for the fallen Bulgarian officers and soldiers, but at the same time, each of them embodies, in its own characteristic way, the local memory of the heroes.
