Summary/Abstract: The article underlines that in the overall education and upbringing ofa person, religion should not be excluded from education, what ismore it should be contrasted, although signs of such treatment can beseen. Omitting religion in a person’s life is always a kind of harm intheir development. Examples of such an approach can be found in thearticle. It is emphasized however that education and religion shouldbe treated in a conjunctive way, where both elements are equallyimportant. Education and religion form one close and coherent whole. To the benefit of such an interpretation many arguments canbe indicated. Educational process of a child means accustoming themto the up to now cultural accomplishment and religion is one of themost significant sections of culture. Its presence in school curriculums is then a significant factor in students’ development. Religionhelps in daily existence. It indicates purposefulness of every actionand considerably influences determining a final goal of a human life.Religious life of a human being is a constant process of perfectioningthemselves as a person. Therefore, the process cannot be blind or random but intentional and rational. Religion is not, as it is often mistakenly presented, an irrational field, but it is also a field of reason.Reason and faith are present in religion, they form unity and supplementarity. Just as a man needs development in their rational life, inthe same way they need development of their religious life, so thatthey can develop their humanity. This very development starts in afamily, then is continued at school and lasts throughout their wholelife.
