Summary/Abstract: The review comments on two books on COVID-19 – constituting a kind of whole. In both monographs, the authors, scientists from Lublin, offered an in-depth description and interesting analyzes of selected aspects of the modern pandemic. From the dominant perspectives (linguistic and cultural studies), the multidimensionality of both the mask phenomenon and the category of humour was examined. The studies highlight the richness of their manifestations and functions. The most important values of the books are the attractiveness and topicality of the topics covered.
