Summary/Abstract: The scientific research highlights the problem of the growth and formation of the concept of information war at the border of the 20th and 21st centuries, which was caused by the end of the «Cold War» and the collapse of the bipolar system of international relations. The main approaches to defining the content of the concept of «information war», its principles and tasks are analyzed. Information warfare is defined as an integral part of ideological struggle.
