Summary/Abstract: The subject of this article are fundamental questions concerning the compensation for damages suffered in the course of clinical trials of medicinal products. The legal basis for engaging the authority of the contracting authority and the principal investigator and the mandatory regime for the insurance of their liability are analyzed. The options available to participants in clinical trials for compensation for damages suffered by them have been examined. The entities responsible for the claim have been investigated.
