Summary/Abstract: The present article discusses the Socinian views on free will based on fragments of Johann Völkel’s treatise, De Vera Religione Libri Quinque. 18). This work is considered the most comprehensive systematic presentation of the Socinian doctrine. The article focuses on two questions: first, the way in which Völkel argues for the existence of free will; and second, the manner in which he disproves the arguments of his opponents who claim that man forfeited the freedom of his will as a result of the Fall of Adam.
