Summary/Abstract: This study explores the linguistic stylistics of the phraseology "râd și curcile" in Romanian, German, and Greek journalistic language. Drawing from Bühler's tripartite model and Jakobson's communication model, the analysis reveals the phraseology's pivotal role in constructing meaning and coherence within journalistic style. Examining press texts from diverse sources, including Romanian, Greek, and German publications, the study categorizes examples based on conveyed illocutionary functions. The findings underscore the phraseology's dual structure with literal and figurative meanings, emphasizing its significant contribution to discourse coherence and meaning construction in journalistic communication. The research method includes content analysis and linguistic analysis. Through the comparative analysis of expressions in cultural and journalistic contexts, we explore semantic and pragmatic differences in the use of this expression in the three languages investigated.
