Summary/Abstract: This study evaluates the approaches and challenges of teaching Romanian literature at the St. Kliment Ohridsky High School and University in Sofia, Republic of Bulgaria. These courses aim to improve students’ Romanian language proficiency and cultural understanding through texts and films adapted to their level of understanding. There is no single type of didactic strategy that fits all types of learners. Dependending on the students’ needs and the teachers’ knowledge, expertise and experience, in different cultural conditions, with different learners and in different cultural settings, the research questions of this study are: What are the most effective didactic strategies for teaching Romanian literature to Bulgarian students? What are the purposes and benefits of using teaching -learning didactic strategies in teaching Romanian literature to Bulgarian students?
