Summary/Abstract: The beginning of the 17th century was on a downward path from the point of view of Slavonic culture. The Metropolitan of Dosoftei printed the Psalter in verse at Uniev in Poland in 1673. Dosoftei is the first of all the great poets who put the Psalms of King David into verses, in a national language of the Orthodox Churches that had Romanian folk poetry as a source of inspiration. Psaltering in verses is the poetic book of faith suitable for the needs and pains of man in difficult moments.
