Summary/Abstract: The non-governmental organization META, o.p.s. provided support for multilingual students and their teachers in the Czech Republic. Since 2004, META has been working to ensure equal access to education for multilingual students and to equip teachers with the skills needed to educate these students effectively. The organization offers a wide range of activities, including social counseling, Czech language courses, leisure activities, and advocacy for systemic changes. The focus is on creating a safe and engaging learning environment where students can freely experiment with the language. The article highlights the importance of supporting both students and teachers simultaneously, as informed and supportive teachers can significantly impact the educational trajectory of multilingual students. Specific attention is given to the challenges faced by students in secondary schools, particularly in mastering the Czech language and preparing for exams. The organization also provides resources and training for teachers to help them better assess and address the language needs of their students. Additionally, META offers online tools and volunteer tutoring to further support students' learning. The article emphasizes the need for systemic changes to improve the education of multilingual students.
