Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the increasing number of foreign students at universities outside the capital, focusing on the Faculty of Arts at Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica. It highlights the challenges and benefits of integrating foreign students into the local community. The text emphasizes the importance of immediate support for these students, beyond institutional processes, to enhance their language skills and social integration. The creation of elective courses aimed at cultural and social integration is described, detailing their impact and the need for more professional and coordinated efforts. The article also mentions the KapaCITY project, which supports local integration efforts and the establishment of a university office for foreign students.
