Summary/Abstract: Digital hygiene can play a key role as a safety for students’ mental health, es-pecially in today’s digital environment, where children and young people spend a significant part of their time online. Specialists working with children and adolescents observemore and more difficulties in the functioning of children and adolescents are related toe-fatigue. This translates into disturbances in both physical and mental functioning. Thisarticle is an attempt to organize thematic issues connecting digital hygiene with mentalhealth issues – it deals with neurobiological factors, causes and symptoms of digital fa-tigue, psychosomatic problems related to excessive use of the internet by children andadolescents. It also includes tips for initiating work with students for teachers and parentsin order to take care of their children’s mental health.
