New technologies – help in education or a threat?

Summary/Abstract: In the digital era, technologies have become an integral part of everyday life,including education. The study aimed to understand the perceptions and experiences ofusers related to the use of new technologies in the educational context. The results showedthat most respondents use technology primarily for entertainment and daily purposes,not for education. There is also a significant knowledge gap concerning new technologies.Respondents also expressed concerns about the rapid pace of technological development.The study highlights the need for technological education to enable the full exploitationof the potential of technology in education. The integration of technology should be sup-ported by appropriate training for teachers and informing education policymakers aboutthe benefits and threats associated with technology.
