Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to present the interest in Renaissance wood carving in Bulgarian sculpture in the 20s and 30s of the 20th century, as well as its presence in the construction of the foundations of shaping in the 70s of the 20th century. The research presents the technical realization of the sculptural compositions by professional masons and their impact, both on the form and on the observance of the requirements for form formation. The analysis found a direct impact and result of the combination of plastic aspirations and their technical implementation. A specific monumental-sculptural object such as the "Apriltsi" monument in the town of Panagyurishte illustrates the achieve- SPRING SCIENTIFIC READINGS 357 20 ment of unification of sculptural compositions by different authors on the basis 23 of the established canon, borrowing the techniques of wood carving from the end of the 19th century and the generality of the compositions achieved with the technical bringing them out.
