INTERVIEW AND CLINICAL HISTORY OF THE ADULT AND CHILD

Summary/Abstract: The first step in the psychological evaluation is the clinical interview. Moreover, the assessment is closely associated with the very identity of the clinical psychologist. No other mental health professional (psychiatrist, social worker, psychological counselor, non-clinical psychologist, etc.) incorporates assessment into their training and professional activity to such a large extent as the clinical psychologist does. In the case of a small child, it will be done in the presence of the parents and in the case of teenagers or in the case of suspicions of abuse, the small child and the parents will also be approached separately.
