Searching for Democracy

Summary/Abstract: Contemporary worldwide trends point at growing antagonism between democratic and militant ideoiogies. But, although those dcmocratic ideologies aren 't perfect, they are formalized and subordinaled to the principle of functionalism and total manipulation, so it could be spoken only about democralic tendeneics in some countries and not about a finished system. This situation is concluded from analysis of mass media and mass communication processes. In the article we gave the basc principles of how the mass media functions, pointing at the difderences between their models inside the autocratic i.e. systems with elements of democracy. Such an analysis even in a planetary level clearly points at nondemocratic components of" contemporary mass communications which, unforlunately, because of the importance of this area of human activities points at the possible destruction of democratic tendencies under the pressure of overwhelming militant ideologles.
