Summary/Abstract: The aim of this scientific article is to present the role of the United Nations Transitional Assistance Group (UNTAG) peacekeeping forces in Namibia, which operated from 1989 to 1990. The author’s reflections focus on the scope of activities undertaken by the ded- icated personnel, examining functional and task-related aspects. The analysis addresses the conditions and historical background of the conflict, highlighting the determinants of the UN’s involvement in shaping the security situation. The research process is based on a detailed analysis of available normative documents and academic studies on this topic, as well as synthesis, generalization, and expert interviews.
