Summary/Abstract: The paper focuses on the development of reading skills and interest in reading among students in lower secondary schools through the implementation of reading workshops. The paper defines reading workshops, discusses challenges schools face when introducing them, provides an overview of strategies for lower secondary schools, emphasizes the importance of developing reading skills, and promotes cooperation between schools, parents,and municipal libraries in order to achieve positive outcomes in the field of reading and reading literacy.
