Summary/Abstract: The great changes that happened in the political and economic life, as well as, in the demographic and religious structure in the Albanian territories during the XVI and XVII centuries, had a significant impact on the new features of the urban developments and architectural peculiarities of the time. The main characteristic of these developments is the birth and advancement of the Oriental Islamic features as an important part of the urban composition of the time. In order to make this study comprehensible and to simplify the methodology used, my observations and analysis will focus on three important towns in south Albania, namely Berat, Vlore and Gjirokaster, which were under the jurisdiction of the Vlora prefecture (Avlonya livasi).
