The Activities of the Presidential Council of the District National Council in Krokocice: 1954–1968

Summary/Abstract: The District National Council in Krokocice was established asa result of the administrative reform in 1954. It included the areas of the followingcommunes: Choszczewo, Krokocice, Lichawa, Łobudzice, Wola Krokocka, WolaŁobudzka, and part of the area of the previous Stefanów-Bąki commune, whichwas the village of Stefanów from the abolished Krokocice commune. The DistrictNational Council implemented its resolutions through the presidium, which wasthe collegial executive and management body of the national council. The scopeof competences of the commune authorities included, among others: adopting the annual budget of the community; approving and dismissing village heads; organ-ising the purchase of livestock, grain, potatoes, milk and collecting taxes; as well asmatters related to the organisation of field work, road construction, fire protection,culture, and education. The Chairpeople of the Presidium of the GRN in Krokocicewere: Eleonora Wiśniewska (1954–1963), Bogumił Frant (1963–1967), Jan Maciołek(1967–1968). The community was abolished on 1st July, 1968.
