Summary/Abstract: God’s bestowal of the various gifts on man is one of the most frequent (favourite)themes which reoccur in the writings of St Elizabeth of the Trinity. Among these, the most important is the “gift of God,” to which she refers ten times. The article firstoutlines the theme of the “gift of God” in the New Testament. Two groups of meaningsare distinguished for this phrase. The first concerns texts understood personally, inwhich the gift is Jesus (Jn 4:10) or the Holy Spirit (Acts 8:20), while the second concernstexts in which the “gift of God” is interpreted objectively, as one’s life path (vocation)or as special abilities and skills (Rom 6:23; 11:29; 2 Tim 1:6). The texts in which Eliz-abeth uses this expression convey not only a specific message to the addressees but, above all, reveal her bond with Jesus as the gift of the Father and her gratitude forGod’s salvific work and for the particular gifts He bestows on human beings. In Eliza-beth’s spirituality, gift-giving leads to worshipping God.
