Summary/Abstract: This article examines the stylistic and thematic choices of the film Shinings (Ivanov, 2024), its production process, and its aesthetics. Positioning the film in the context of other “In-between” films, I try to determine what makes Shinings depart from the fiction norm. This article also considers the film’s relevance to contemporary geopolitical tension. How Shinings challenges the traditional notions of military heroism while reflecting youth uncertainty and fear, and how it serves as a cultural artefact that captures anxieties caused by the proximity of the war.
