Summary/Abstract: The text attempts to collect data on the communication between the two basic principles of the organization of society from antiquity to the present day. Systematizing the knowledge of the relationship between people living in the polis and people living according to the orders of tradition is a relevant topic for contemporary society. To what extent and how does the recorded morality that shapes civic culture function and how do informal ethnic relationships fit in? Answers to the previous question are sought in historical and cultural events narrated and suggested in literary sources, from archaeological and epigraphic data, and from folklore. The creation of a text observing the relationship village – town, oral speech – literature, tradition – written law predetermines new contexts in the museum presentation of the topic.
