Summary/Abstract: This research aims to understand the influence of burnout on the relationship between job performance and sustainable planning in higher education. Through a survey of administrative personnel in Dominican institutions, variables were measured using validated questionnaires and analyzed with PLS-SEM. The findings indicate a significant correlation between performance and sustainable planning. Contrary to expectations, burnout did not significantly impact planning, although it did negatively affect job performance. These results highlighted the importance of integrating sustainability into project planning by addressing both theoretical and practical dimensions. The study highlights how burnout affects project success, emphasizing the need for comprehensive strategies to mitigate it. Furthermore, it suggests that sustainable project planning improves traditional management theories by adding ethical, social, and environmental considerations.
