Summary/Abstract: The Bas-Ferlois marked by the exacerbation of erosion phenomena which calls into question the preservation of the productive potential of the soils. The objective of this article is to characterize the sediments of the superficial horizons of the soils of the Bas-Ferlo. Samples were taken from the surface of the alluvial soils (H 0 cm) and then from two surface horizons (H 0 cm and H 40 cm) of the erg soils along transects perpendicular to the valley. 13 samples are treated by dry sieving. The results show a heterogeneous and variable granulometry between the morpho-pedological units. The material of the hydromorphic soils of the valley is coarsened by local aeolian inputs. The dune soils of the erg have, in common, an average grain size larger at the surface than at depth, reflecting an erosive dynamic. Textural indices (Mz, 𝝈𝒊, Sk and KG) indicate spatial variation in sedimentary environments. Finally, particle size curve analysis characterizes the valley soils as bulk deposited material and the eolian sands the erg as sediment transited, selectively, by saltation and suspension.
