Summary/Abstract: The hypocoristics are mostly used in spoken communication, thus they cannot be found in anthroponymic dictionaries, unless they have become official forms. Hypocoristic forms of new and rare names were collected via a questionnaire. The analysis shows that both traditional and new patterns were used to form them. Some are influenced by models typical for the English language.
