Summary/Abstract: The foregoing paper is an extract from the monograph of the same title by Nasho Jorgaqi. It is focused on the narrative prose of Mitrush Kuteli, regarded as one of the founders of modern Albanian narrative during the 1920s to the 1930s of the past century. Literary contribution of Kuteli has been considered firstly in the large context of the Albanian literature, especially in comparison with the works of other representative figures of short narrative prose, such as Migjeni, Ernest Koliqi, Nonda Bulka etc. Their thematic and artistic contribution made the historical change in Albanian narrative, developed until then in the frame of a didactic and moralistic one. Most of the paper deals with detailed analysis of all the short narrative prose of Kuteli. There are about thirty stories which are considered both from their content and their artistic means and proceedings. A series of original qualities of Kutelian prose are drawn and evident by the scholar. The latter tries to prove that Mitrush Kuteli founded his own school in the Albanian narrative prose, but it remains to be further examined and verified by other scholars who are trying to deeply penetrate into the creative laboratory of the outstanding narrative master.
