Summary/Abstract: Enlightenment or luminism is a current of thought, with multiple consequences in the European space - including in the artistic plan - that tends to emancipate man from the rigid position in which traditional philosophy had placed him, thus freeing him, and making him the object of his own activity; through work and culture, man becoming perfectible, like the society he builds. A predominant current in the early era of modern thought, it was reflected early on in Romanian artistic culture. Thanks to their texts, the scholars of the Transylvanian School have the merit of having cultivated and spread among the people an advanced knowledge of musical art - an important phenomenon of culture. Their successors, representing an era of vertiginous social and spiritual ascent, will resume the ideas of the Enlightenment, integrating them into the currents of the era and adapting them to the phenomena of Romanian culture. The writings of Eliade Rădulescu, Cezar Boliac, Nicolae Filimon and others. will often adopt Enlightenment thinking as direct reflections on musical art
