Summary/Abstract: In today’s glottodidactics in all its aspects the importance of theapplication of the teaching methods enabling activization of the learnerseems to be the priority. During one of the UŚ courses specializing in design-ing interactive entertainment and localizations of games and software, TheInquisitor was used in its Latin language version to engage students in thelearning process and activate their language potential while studying thescripts written both in Latin and English. The results of applying this in-novative method in teaching Latin through the game with its intriguingplot and dialogues resulted not only in a deeper involvement in the learningprocess, a better understanding of Latin vocabulary and its connection withdifferent modern languages, higher test results but it also showed an urgentneed for rethinking/updating contemporary Latin syllabuses to adapt themto expectations of contemporary students while enriching the methodsused for teaching Latin in ancient languages acquisition.
