Summary/Abstract: This article draws the readers’ attention to clothing and jewelry items from the medieval period (10th-14th centuries) found in a site primarily known for its ancient history. The fortress of Tropaeum Traiani (located in the commune of Adamclisi, Constanța County, Romania), situated west of the village of Adamclisi on the plateau in the Urluia valley, is one of the most important economic, political, and religious centers in Roman Dobrudja and the eastern part of the Roman Empire (within the provinces of Moesia Inferior and Scythia). Like many Roman-period sites, there is evidence of early medieval (and possibly later) habitation here, with significant insights provided by recent systematic archaeological research in the last decade, particularly in the southern quarter of the fortress, sector C. Most artifacts were found in three pits that contained household waste. These pits were dug deep into the late Roman living layers dated to the 6th century, while others were found in the area of a Domus type building and its immediate vicinity, in the upper part of the ancient walls’ debris layer. This situation arose from the removal of the “barbarian” walls before 1910 to access the Roman layers considered more significant. Although they do not have a well-defined chronological archaeological context, the new medieval discoveries at Tropaeum Traiani provide valuable contributions to this period. These new items help to shape our understanding of the medieval period in the area and provide additional information about clothing accessories, medieval fashion, and their distribution area.
