Reflections of Socio-Political Conditions in Rijeka on the Pages of the Paper "Naša sloga"

Summary/Abstract: This paper analyses the socio-political position and conditions in Rijeka through the writings of the newspaper Naša sloga from 1870 to 1915. The author focuses on the key aspects of the disintegration policies of that time, which were also reflected in the pages of this Istrian revival paper. On the other hand, it also investigates the role of Naša sloga in integration processes, especially in the context of strengthening the Croatian national identity in the city. The work also opens up the possibility of new interpretations of the socio-political issues of Rijeka and provides a basis for a critical analysis of the city’s position in a wider historical and political context.
