Summary/Abstract: This article examines La vorágine by José Eustasio Rivera, Hijos de la nieve by José Libardo Porras, and Mi fuga hacia la libertad by Jhon Frank Pinchao from the perspective of the sociology of literature, highlighting the interplay between social, cultural, and political factors in Colombia’s Amazon region. Through a contextualized analysis, the study explores how these narratives depict the consequences of natural resource exploitation, from the rubber industry to the impact of drug trafficking on Colombian society. The study delves into the literary representation of social and environmental conflicts, the portrayal of various social groups (indigenous communities, settlers, drug traffickers), and the perspectives offered on issues such as resource exploitation and drug trafficking. It also addresses the representation of forced displacement and territorial disputes in these works.
