Summary/Abstract: The field of preventive archaeology has provided, in the last decades, the possibility of certain large-scale archaeological excavations and, implicitly, the chance of studying the sites on large areas. The settlement of Hamangia from Techirghiol Dealul Minerva - Paloda site was reported a long time ago by D. Galbenu, the one who led the salvation excavations here during the period 1959 - 1962, published in the preliminary report from 1962. The construction of a Spa Complex on the southeast slope of the knoll (investor SC. Paloda), occasioned the performance of preventive excavations on an area of approx. 5.000 sqm and the identification of 181 archaeological complexes - attributed to the Hamangia Culture, until the Early and Late Roman periods and the Modern Age. The study of the over 150 Hamangia complexes has brought invaluable contribution regarding the whole image of eth last phase of this culture, previously known in Romania, only through surveys and fortuitous discoveries (Techirghiol, Mangalia).
