Summary/Abstract: In the present paper, we discuss the history of the research on Avar and Conquest period beads in the Carpathian Basin, focusing particularly on the structural analysis of earlier typologies. We also briefly outline the main features of classification methods used in international bead research. Subsequently, considering cultural contexts and territorial specificities, we propose a methodological recommendation for the classification and analysis of these beads. Furthermore, based on the analytical system developed by Katalin Szilágyi (material, form, production technology, colours, metrics data), we will detail the possibilities that can be obtained through the research of beads. The overarching aim of these aspects is to enhance accessibility in the study of the beads and to establish a coherent analytical framework that can be widely applied, whether in cemeteries, microregions, or more complex analyses.
