Summary/Abstract: The low-cost airline model, which offers affordable and accessible air transportation, is a transformative new business model in the aviation sector that increases the number of passengers by offering affordable travel. This model reduces costs through operational efficiency, revenue generation from additional services and the use of secondary airports, has significantly changed the competition and accessibility in the sector. The aim of the study is to analyze the studies on this model, which has attracted academic interest and has been included in scientific studies, from a bibliometric perspective. The study examined 119 publications in the fields of articles, early access articles, book chapters and review articles covering the period 1997- 2024. The findings show that the author who is most interested in the low-cost airline model field is Heesup Han, the most cited author is Keith J.Mason, and the country with the most cited authors is England. It was determined that the journal with the highest number of publications and citations is the Journal of Air Transport Management, and the most repeated keyword in the studies is “carriers”.
