Summary/Abstract: There is a tendency during last ten years in kindergarten children to play less and less. This contrasts with the widespread belief among teachers and parents that education in kindergartens is based on play, and that learning takes place there through play. In many cases, this is the dominant view, even when researchers acknowledge that the reality is different. Whether kindergarten is really a place for learning through play is the question posed by this report. And how can we change our ideas about learning through play so that children actually play while learning and learn while playing
