Summary/Abstract: Failure of employees and employers to comply with occupational health and safety regulations is the main cause of a large number of accidents invarious industrial sectors where work is carried out at a height of more than 1 m above ambient level. For this reason, it is necessary to use additionalsafeguards such as electronic health and safety monitoring systems, the purpose of which is to increase employee safety. The most popular functionsof these systems include: tracking the employee's location, including their presence in dangerous zones, monitoring their physical activity, checkingthe use and correctness of the completion of protective equipment, detecting the arrest of a fall or suspension of an employee in a safety harness, aswell as monitoring other events that may threaten human life and safety. The article discusses the basic problems related to working at height, whichrequire monitoring, and technical solutions used in electronic health and safety monitoring systems used to improve working conditions. The publicationfocuses on workstations in construction, where often the only possible protection is individual fall protection equipment.
