Summary/Abstract: This study revisits the problem of Emil Cioran’s detachement from the Romanian language. We base our analysis mainly on the philosopher’s Correspondance, because we believe in each author’s sincerity expressed in the epistolary works. Cioran states that, by adopting the French language, he overcame his deep suffering, metaphysical load and his desires because he kept only the expression of all this weight.
