Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the determinants of the actions taken by online creators that affect the creation of authorial media messages and their sharing in various online environments. The considerations were based on four autobiographical narrative interviews with Internet creators having different seniority and representing different areas of activity. On the basis of the narrators’ statements, two main issues were identified, which, in their opinion, determine to the greatest extent the nature of Internet creation in the broadest sense. The first is algorithms, whose influence is total, making the relationship between them and the broadcasters asymmetrical in terms of power/knowledge. The second are communities built around narrators (their audience), with whom interactions are more ambivalent; on the one hand, they provide positive reinforcement, while on the other, their negative reactions can lead to creators’ discontinuation. The aforementioned factors are, of course, not disconnected, with respondents describing different practices for navigating between them to succeed in the competitive and uncertain world of social media.
