Summary/Abstract: The fascination that diaries and memoirs related to the concentration camp universe exert on readers reveals the need for writings that are based on authenticity. One such book is The Happiness Journal by Nicolae Steinhardt, which illustrates how suffering can be converted into joy and shows that true freedom cannot be suppressed by any external power, being linked to each person's faith and spirituality. This idea has made the work appreciated not only in Romania, but also throughout the world, as it speaks about the human condition in general, revealing a wide range of experiences (religious, social, cultural) and constituting a true lesson in resistance.
