Summary/Abstract: The personal archive of Jan Vladislav, a renowned poet, essayist, and translator, is housed in the Literary Archive of the Museum of Czech Literature since 1982. Born in 1923 in Slovakia and passing away in 2009 in Prague, Vladislav's extensive collection spans 241 boxes and includes manuscripts, correspondence, and documents related to literature, translation, philosophy, and politics. His archive is notable for its coverage of the samizdat era and Charter 77. The collection was acquired in parts, starting with the purchase of manuscripts in 1982 and continuing with significant additions after 1989. The archive includes correspondence with prominent figures like Václav Havel and Jaroslav Seifert, as well as Vladislav's own writings and translations. The collection is still being processed for detailed cataloging and is expected to be fully accessible for research by 2027. The archive also contains audiovisual materials from the Authentic Project, documenting Czech literary life.
