JESUS – THE HOPE OF THE YOUTH. A Homiletic Study Based on Pope Francis's Preaching on the Occasion of World Youth Day in Lisbon

Summary/Abstract: This paper presents the main components of Pope Francis’ preachingduring World Youth Day in Lisbon and the period of preparation for theevent. The analysis of the Holy Father’s teaching makes it possible to workout a specific model of preaching to young people, both in terms of its contentand the language used. The key is to show hope and the source of happinessin the encounter with the person of Jesus Christ, who sends youngpeople out into the world, equipping them with everything they need tofulfil this mission according to God’s design.
