Transposition of the fatherhood model in the space of social life. Areas, implications and the need for enhanced education

Summary/Abstract: The article compiles information relating to the transposition of the model of fatherhood, whichrefers to the changes observed in the gradual and, in recent decades, intensified departure from tradi-tional patterns and expectations of the father’s role, in favour of the creation of new styles of parentalfunctioning of modern men. The new model of fatherhood benefits all family members, especiallychildren. Given the firmly entrenched model of traditional fatherhood, there is a need to reinforcethis emerging construct. As a result of educational and supportive activities, the idea is to achieve,on the one hand, greater paternal involvement in caregiving responsibilities and, at the same time,overcome inequalities in family relations, and on the other hand, enhance the social and culturalacceptance of the model of active fatherhood.
