Summary/Abstract: A questionnaire experiment was conducted to assess distinctivity threat impact posed on the lower inclusiveness social identity in the context of crossed and mutual inclusive categorisation. Results confirm the prediction that the success of building a new high inclusiveness identity depends on the security of the lower inclusiveness and strongly valued identity. In the case of lower inclusiveness identities that were connected in content the threat posed on one of them does not determine the same identity protective reactions in the other one. Results are discussed in application to Romanian european integration process.
