Summary/Abstract: The tendency to unfairly attribute solely pejorative characteristics to computer games is slowlybecoming obsolete. Increasingly, one can find many educational contexts in them and the possibilityof developing specific skills, supporting traditional forms of schooling and extracurricular activities,or compensating for deficiencies. These features have a constructive impact on both the youngestand older recipients of software, which, although can be divided into various genres and subgenres, are called computer games. The rational use of the phenomenon of (educational) computer games –combining play with learning – in supporting the educational process can become an attractivealternative to traditional teaching methods. This approach not only generates tremendous interestamong students, but also motivates them and fosters a desire for deeper knowledge. The multisen-sory nature and convergence of games present a valuable argument for their use for both studentsand teachers. Additionally, computer games can play a role as an optimizing tool for the educationalprocess and contribute to increasing its effectiveness. Mobile devices, especially smartphones, havegained popularity and also serve an important support tools for individuals suffering from conditionssuch as type one diabetes.
