Summary/Abstract: Symptoms of emotional disorders may be very diverse in people with ASD. Although emotional development disorders tend to largely affect social interactions, there is a noticeable paucity of research with rich source material on the emotional competence of Polish‑speaking people with ASD conducted in the field of linguistics. The problem of naming emotions is particularly interesting from the point of view of speech therapy. The aim of the article is to discuss methods of testing the ability to name emotions in various scientific disciplines, considering the capabilities and limitations of people with ASD.
