Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to analyze the coverage of Chat GPT on six Polish online platforms, categorized into three thematic groups: WP.pl and Interia.pl (news portals), Demagog.org.pland OKO.press (fact-checking portals), and CyberDefence24.pl and Spidersweb.pl (technologyportals). The results aim to determine which aspects of Chat GPT are particularly emphasized inthese different types of media and what stance toward this tool is characteristic of each group.Research method: the study was conducted using content analysis of materials published betweenJanuary and August 2023. Results and conclusions: the analyzed materials predominantlyexhibited either a negative or ambivalent tone, with a stronger emphasis on negative elements. The technology portals featured the most content on Chat GPT, as well as the greatest thematicdiversity. In contrast, the news and fact-checking portals covered Chat GPT to a lesser extent;however, the fact-checking platforms more often provided in-depth analyses of the chatbot. Theleast comprehensive coverage of Chat GPT was observed on news portals. Cognitive value: in2023, a global debate emerged about the opportunities and threats associated with Chat GPT.While many media outlets worldwide have reported on the development of Chat GPT, systematicstudies of media coverage on this topic are lacking in Poland. This article addresses this gap.
