Summary/Abstract: Starting from the written communication competence and its reflection in the Romanian as a second language textbooks, the present work aims at the development of discursive strategies for non-native speakers of level A1-B1, paying more attention to the techniques for the development of coherence, cohesion, suppleness and thematic development in writing. Understanding the existing deficiencies in the current textbooks for teaching the Romanian language as L2, there is a need for a restructuring of the organization of composition and writing activities, following a tripartite structure (pre-writing, actual writing, post-writing) and emphasizing the exercises aimed at developing the previously mentioned indicators. Furthermore, the study proposes the inclusion of personalized feedback and error correction methods to reinforce learners’ understanding and application of these strategies. This approach ensures a more dynamic interaction between the learner and the text, fostering both linguistic accuracy and creativity in writing.
