Summary/Abstract: Metaphors have always played a fundamental role in conceptualizing digital realities. Their everyday use, however, makes them challenging to recognize, as they have solidified in our shared imagination. This crystallization is precisely what enables a community of interpreters to attach meaning to a signifier, allowing mutual understanding.
